BYUtv Now Available in Four Pacific Island Nations

With the recent addition of the Cook Islands, BYUtv is now available in four Pacific island nations including Tonga, Samoa and American Samoa.

BYUtv is a television channel sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that offers family-friendly programming to the public.

Teua Purua is a member of the Church living in the Cook Islands and watches BYUtv regularly. “We love it. And we trust that the programs on there are always suitable for the general audience,” she said.

Purua also works for Bluesky Cook Islands, the network which provides BYUtv, and receives feedback from the public about the new channel. “People have been very interested in BYUtv … Some have watched it for themselves and they actually love that it’s child friendly with all kinds of programs,” she said.

Broadcasting from Provo, Utah, BYUtv reaches over 53 million households in the United States of America alone. Some of their most popular programming includes the hit sketch comedy show Studio C, the high-strung drama Granite Flats and over 100 live sporting events each year. The channel emphasizes content that uplifts and inspires viewers.  Examples can be found in programs such as Music and the Spoken Word, Random Acts and a variety of messages and presentations from Church leaders and special guest speakers.
